REMEMBERING TUPAC

Today is the 21st anniversary of, arguably, one of the most influential rappers of all time,  Tupac Shakur. Many of us grew up on some of his biggest hits like “I Get Around“, “Dear Mama“, “Hail Mary“, “California Luv“, and a slew of other well known tracks. With a voice as distinct as his you knew who it was when he touched a mic, we fell in love with his flow, his sound, his rebellious spirit, and his outspokenness. Born in NY and later transplanted in California, he met and danced for Digital Underground which sparked his flame in the music world. Tupac went on to join the infamous Death Row Records with the likes of Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre, lead by Marion “Suge” Knight.

Back in June his biopic was released titled “All Eyez On Me” that opened it’s first week with $27,000,000 that took many hits from critics and celebrities alike, rating just 17% on RottenTomato and a rating of 5.8/10 . Tupac will always be known for his major contribution to hip-hop as he started the “Thug Life” movement and created songs that embraced women, children, politics, and struggles from living in poverty.

Tupac was shot September 7th, 1996 in Las Vegas, Nevada and was pronounced dead on September 13th, 1996. We love and miss Tupac dearly, his unexpected death still sparks rumors till this day, the Las Vegas PD has yet to solve his murder and it is now considered cold.

We will leave you with one of our favorite videos of the young MC below:
